Cesar Dacol Jr. has worked in the film industry for nearly 20 years, starting his career in the makeup effects industry and transitioning to CG in the mid 90s. With a background in anatomy and traditional sculpting, he has worked as Lead and Modeling Supervisor, contributing to feature films such as 'Journey to the Center of the Earth 3D', '300', 'Barnyard' and 'Fantastic Four'.

Prime Focus VFX (formerly Frantic Films VFX) lent its expertise in previz, digital environments, fluid simulation and high-volume particle rendering to complete 124 visual effects shots for 'G.I. JOE: The Rise of Cobra,' directed by Stephen Sommers for Paramount Pictures.

A large portion of these 70 shots were for the finale’s aerial sequence, which features a plane being eaten away by Nanomites, a bio-weapon usurped by evil forces that disintegrates metal on contact.

When the SIGGRAPH Committee decided to launch the new arm of the annual conference in Asia, SIGGRAPH learned a lot. In coming to Asia, ACM SIGGRAPH is learning more and more about how to communicate with the Asian community. "This is really good for SIGGRAPH because as an international conference, it will make itself even more international," says Masa Inakage, a Dean and Professor in the Graduate School of Media Design at Keio University.
