The process of upgrading EIAS from its most successful historic version of 2.9.2 has been a long and arduous process. Multi-layer rendering, the first primary enhancement, uses a new class of shaders to direct Camera to generate layered Photoshop PSD files, revised depth of field IMG files and Rich Pixel Format (RPF) files for images containing alpha, z-depth, and other channel information, thus replacing EIAS’ older EIZ file format. This is a welcomed addition that broadcast designers and visual effects production houses have been desperately waiting for and will surely take into their workflows without delay.
